Error! Unable to determine the page link!

I have just moved my site to the root directory after developing it in a subfolder on the server.
When you now go to the site eg www.mysite.co.uk I get this message on the screen.

Error!

Unable to determine the page link!

However if you set my ip address in the admin to be excluded from showing down for maintainence it works fine.

Has anybody any ideas what could be causing this?
