Default Using custom template image folder

Still working on initial install of custom template in v 1.38 (I think). Have set the following directory on server - includes/templates/CUSTOM/images. Works great for all images BUT product images. Will recognize and display these in the ROOT/images folder, but not when loaded into the CUSTOM/images folder. Naming convention is OK, but is as follows. 001.jpg, 001_01.jpg, etc. And have a "large" folder as well, with 001_LRG.jpg, 001_01_LRG.jpg. Again, works fine in ROOT/images, not in custom folder.

    Hep me! Hep me!

Going to the site is not going to be very helpful right now. Deleted all product images in order to replace with new photography and don't want to upload them all into a directory that won't work. Product #5 has an image in the ROOT/images folder. And a complete set in the custom folder.

    Thanks,

product images are stored in root within image folder and sub folders ..
image folders that you crate for your custom template , has nothing to do with product images that is going to be displayed for products pages.

image folders in your custom template , is a place for images that effect the look of your design

Thanks so much. Did not find that explaination anywhere. Further question - Does that mean I'll have to reload images when/if I update zencart? Will not a new, empty directory be created in that event?

Thanks again for your fast and helpful reply.

ZC updates are done manually . this process requires you to upload and perhaps overwrite files that have been updated or need to be changed.
ZC uses configure.php files to access number of folders , including images folder , so as long as those files are untouched , you should not have problem ..

Product images will NOT be overwritten with an upgrade/update. Template images may be overwritten if the templating system is not followed.
