Another damn blank page

I assume that the file that's wrong is functions_general.php on line 44. I've checked it and there's nothing on that line Check the screen grab image... Any ideas peeps ?

Ok checked flat.php at line 53, there was a blank space. Removed the blank space and the second line of error code has now changed to this:

I've checked line 87 of functions_general.php and can see the following (See attachment)

Not sure what i'm looking for... php newbie :-)

Your files are all double-spaced. That's not how they're distributed and if that's how they are on your server is likely going to cause you a whole heap of problems with extra blank lines being interpreted as premature output.

This usually happens because of line endings getting converted somewhere between your download of the zipped files from Zen Cart, your editor and your FTP software.

What do you suggest I do then...... Everything was ok up untill yesterday when I set up all the paypal module stuff.

After setting up that i tested it and it worked fine, went through to the paypal site and everything was ok...

Do you think I should make a backup of this file, then download a fresh copy and upload that?

Ok.... I tried that anyway. renamed my old file _old and uploaded a fresh copy into the server from a new zen download. I'm now getting this error in the log:

I've been led to believe that the first section that says;

output started at /home/u30chri/public_html/sienna/includes/languages/english/modules/shipping/cherry_zen/flat.php:53

I should ignore and the the actual page generating the error was the second one... In this case functions_general.php, is this correct?

i have uploaded a FRESH copy of the functions_general.php file and am now getting an error on line 44.... How can this be when i's a brand new copy?

I think this issue has something to do with the first file flat.php

This is my point. Somewhere between downloading a fresh copy of Zen Cart and getting the files to your sever, then are getting corrupted. You need to track down which step is causing this, adjust the settings for the relevant piece of software and then re-load your files.

Simply moving them through the same process is unlikely to resolve the problem. Fixing them one by one would, but would be mighty tedious and likely cause yoy the same problem in the future.

I'm using Cute FTP Pro to upload, I expect you're talking about ASCII and Binary mode transfer types. What mode should I use to upload php files. It's currently set to "Use Global setting".

I have 4 options in Cute FTP, ASCII, Binary Auto Detect & Use Global setting.

As a matter of interest, I've visually compared the two copies the one on the server and the fresh one from the Zen zip file... and they look identical

I have downloaded yet another fresh copy of the zen cart files and uploaded the functions_general.php via CuteFTP in ASCII mode, it being basically a text document that's editable in wordpad.... Still no luck and I'm getting this error in the error log:

I'm losing the will to live at the moment, has anyone got any suggestions please.... Could it be the flat.php file? This isn't in the Zen zip, it's in my template folder which is cherry_zen. However it isn't in the cherry_zen.zip that you download... it's created later on.

is file causing problems...switch templates, then go back to cherry zen and investigate
