Urgent Help with Easy Populate v1.2.5.4

Hello,

I'm completely new to Zen Cart and Easy Populate. I've had a browse through the site and found that this program would be useful for uploading a large amount of products into Zen Cart at once.

I've downloaded the application to my desktop, but have no idea what i'm supposed to do now. I gather that the files need to be uploaded somewhere, but was wondering if anyone might be able to point me in the right direction.

i.e. Where in my directory do i need to upload the files to allow me to begin using East Uploader?

OK, so you've downloaded the ZIP file for EP.

UNZIP it on your local drive.

Then, open your FTP program (I trust it is a GOOD one like FILEZILLA or WSFTP Pro!)

In the local drive pane, navigate to your unzipped EP folder and drill down until you see displayed:

admin (folder)
temp (folder)
... and a handful of files

Then, in your remote (server) pane, navigate to your ZC installation directory. Drill down until you see:

admin
cache
download
editors
email
- etc, etc

Now, simply HIGHLIGHT both admin and temp folders in the local frame, and click the arrow that FTP's these to the server.

(You DO NOT need to send any of the loose files - just admin and temp folders)

This does NOT (as some think) "overwrite" the admin folder - it just adds any new files inside it to the admin folder on the server - so no danger of overwriting admin files. Naturally, if there are identical FILE names, it should prompt you to overwrite, but in the case of EP there are no modified core files.

When the FTP completes, go to your admin panel and under tools you should see Easy Populate.

Open Easy Populate and install it.

Then, under admin>>>configuration, you will see Easy Populate too. Take a look there, and you may need to change some settings.
