I'm using v1.3.8a now, and have used Zen Cart for three years, but I'm finally trying to do something really complicated and I'm getting all balled up!
The Scenario: I have a Product (a downloadable datafile) that comes in 52 flavors (50 states plus DC and PR), and each flavor comes in the buyer's choice of two formats (MDB and CSV -- both zipped). And every state is priced differently (depends on number of records in the dataset).
My customers may have need of the Alaska dataset in MDB format, the California dataset in CSV, Puerto Rico in MDB, etc. And they get a quantity discount -- %30 off when they buy 3 or 4 of these files; 50% off for 5 or more.
Ideally, this is a single product with 104 separate attributes. Of course, this would mean that the quantity discount would be counting Attributes selected, not Products selected.
Is this even possible?
I have been experimenting: Option name for each state, option value for each file format/download file/price; Enable qty discount Yes; priced by attributes. Using checkboxes so customer can select as many states and formats as they want. But can't get quantity discount working. Also, the "Starting at" line adds up ALL of the states' prices instead of the displaying the cheapest state; and if I NO the Include In Base Price element, it displays nothing (just "Starting at " with no amount).
I know I'm doing something awfully horribly wrong!
