Setting up downloads - why are my files showing red in Download Manager?

I can not figure out the correct way to name the downloadable files. I have them in the download manager, but they are red. I have tried naming it every way i can think of. Could someone please tell me what the correct file name format is?

It is in my file manager under public_html Catalog Download ASC and the file name is ascstpattysdaykit.zip

Hope i have provided enough information.

    Thanks!

    Cari

Your download file belongs in the directory:
    /download

If you have your shop in the /catalog directory then you would place the download files in:
    /catalog/download

NOTE: on the attribute, you just add the filename itself as:

    ascstpattysdaykit.zip

I am not sure the name of your directories, but my site is in a directory called /fred so I place my downloads in:
    /public_html/fred/download/

ok i am feeling so lost!!! the files now are in puplic_html
    then in downloads
    then in ASC
then the files shows up there.

I tried to add the kit name as you have stated and it still is telling me its an invalid file name.

Does Zen Cart have a tech support number or something, cause i am really going to need to be walked through this.

I have already spoken to my host/server, and they have informed me that Zec Cart is correctly uploaded there.

But the host/server can offer no support on 3rd party products.

    That's your problem.

Zen Cart doesn't currently support subdirectories under the "download" folder.
