    Default Downloading Free PDF Files does not work?

    I have entered products in PDF on my website that can only be purchased by downloding them. Recently I entered PDF files that can be downloaded FREE of charge. When I try to download any of them it takes me through normally, like an order. But after I click "SUBMIT ORDER" it says: To download your files click the download button and choose "Save to Disk" from the popup menu. The problem is: THERE IS NO DOWNLOAD BUTTON that I can see! Have I made a mistake in entering these files differently from those that charge a fee to be downloaded by a customer?

    Anyone willing to test the free download and explain to me why it won't work?

    Via admin, modules, payment..did you activate
    ZenCart FREE Charge Card..

    I was going to test this for you, got as far as creating an account and got the message "Sorry, we are not accepting payments from your region at this time." (I am in Australia and put that lol)

    So I think misty has it right that you need to activate ZenCart FREE Charge Card PLUS also in Admin - Modules - Shipping:

    FREE SHIPPING! (freeshipper module)

    I created the account under christon26 as the name, feel free to delete LOL

    Thank you very much for your message. I did exactly the same thing and got "Sorry, we are not accepting payments from your region at this time." (I am in the US, where everyone else is able to do the transactions) Some cyber-mystery. Anyway, I'll continue exploring options. Thanks again!

    You should really consider zipping your files as my browser opens it in Adobe vs download ... as that is the nature of the beast ...

    Also, you should avoid spaces and special characters in filenames ... that includes the slashes as that can cause unexpected issues ...

    As to you not being able to complete the checkout or do the download, check your account address or make a new test account to see how things work ...

    Mine is an old account on your site from other testing but seems to work fine other than the download popping up adobe vs just downloading the file ...

    I have been using free files for over 3 years now in my cart, all without a problem.

    Then today, all of a sudden, my customers get the message "sorry we are not accepting payments from your region"

    What would have caused this to start out of the blue? I haven't made ANY changes, and I haven't upgraded anything in well over 6 months. It worked just fine yesterday, as I had an order at about 3pm where they had a zero balance and were able to check out.

    I've read about setting the Zen FREE card option, have never had to use that before, and really don't want to have to start now, if I don't have to.

    I'm using:

    Zen Cart 1.3.7.1

    Database Patch Level: 1.3.7

    What Payment modules are installed?

    Do you have any Zones on them?

    work fine other than the download popping up adobe vs just downloading the file ...
    This happens on my store when I try to download my free videos (they open in Windows Media Player instead of just downloading).

    However, I have downloaded the same types of video files (MPEG) from other websites by clicking their "download" buttons and it works without the intrusion of WMP. Anyone know how this is done? I really don't want to add extra steps by zipping everything (especially when it seems the competition has found a way around it). Anyone have an insight?
