Remove Define Page x from Define Page Status

All,

ok - I don't fully understand the define pages and why I would use them yet - so this may seem a stupid question, but I would like to know if there is an answer.

I am not using the define pages so I removed them from my template and from /includes/languages/english/html_includes (before I knew they could be turned off!).

But they are still listed in Admin -> Configuration -> Define Page Status

The only way I can see to remove them from this list is to delete the relevant records from the configuarion database table

530 Define Page 2 DEFINE_PAGE_2_STATUS
531 Define Page 3 DEFINE_PAGE_3_STATUS
532 Define Page 4 DEFINE_PAGE_4_STATUS

Is there a correct way to remove them, or if unwanted should they just be disabled.

Just disable them via admin... It's not wise to go at the code with a chainsaw... especially when the correct way is to use the admin console's switches.
