WordPress problems

A guy I know built my site for me but added WordPress because he felt I needed a blog on my site. It's a small business site that's still in development but the problem I now have is this.

The site was working but now the url resolves to:

"http://[my site name]/wp-admin/install.php"

He has now disappeared and I'm stuck. I've looked up down and around and have no answers. Rather than delete the WP sub-directory (worried because now everything is on the root whereas before the blog/WP my site was in its own sub-directory).

This may be related to the mySQL database or some setting in some php file that has been changed and so the WP is wanting to install itself?

Can anyone point me in the right direction here. After 2 weeks of coming home after work and trying to solve this I'm reaching out.

Oh, and the Zen Cart version is 1.3.7.

What he's done is to install Wordpress in the root, over top of Zencart. You should be able to fix it by removing all Wordpress files.

Since this is a new site, and I'd guess you haven't done much to it yet, I'dd recommend starting over. Delete all the files, create a new database, and install Zencart again in the root (use the current version, 1.3.8a this time).

Just my opinion, but a blog is one of the last things you should be thinking about on an ecommerce site. Get everything else up and running first, and by that time you'll know enough to install Wordpress properly yourself.
