I have uploaded this to my server and logged onto my website and started the installation

the system inspection results came up with 2 problems do I need to do anything about them before I install zen-cart

Those are minor matters. You can read more about their meaning by clicking the "click here for more info" link supplied.
In most cases you should be able to install fine regardless of those alerts.

thanks for answering I have uploaded and installed the zen-cart now
Just waiting for the book to arrive so I can start to change the appearance etc. so far I am impressed by the ease of it all and I am looking forward to creating our own look is it worth while using a template to change the overall look of the site I kinda like the look of Sophie blue

Yes, it's definitely worth customizing the look to suit your own tastes.
