Unique Attributes

Hello,

I'm sorry if this is covered somewhere else, I couldn't quite seem to find what I was looking for in searching through the forums.

I'm setting up a store with the intent of selling digital books.

However, what I need is for each book to have multiple properties attached to it, such as Author, Illustrator, Publisher, etc. In some cases these books may actually have multiple of each.

Is there a plugin, or good tutorial on how to set this up? The important part is that there will be MANY books, with many different artists/illustrators/etc, and putting in the name of EVERY person into the list of product attributes did not seem like it would be the most efficient manner to do this in. I couldn't find a particular tool in the CP to set this up.

If anyone could point me in the right direction, it would be much appreciated.

I'd do it by setting up a category for Books, Books by Author (with authors names as sub-categories), Fiction, Non-Fiction,, etc.

Add a Book by Samuel Clemens and use "copy to" with a Copy Method of "Link Product. Copy it in a Books by Author Category under both Samuel Clemens and Mark Twain. You could also duplicate it under Fiction or Non-Fiction etc. If you preset all your categories, you can use the Multiple Categories Link Manager button at the bottom of the Copy screen to add to more than one category at a time.

You only need load the book one time, copy it, AND all changes made at a later time will automatically made in the duplicates as well.
