attribute controller sort order

in my store i have several products that have a lot of attributes that change frequently. i am not having a problem with the sort order in the catalog, i am having an issue with the sort order in the admin attribute controller page.

my issue is that whenever i add a new attribute to the list, the attribute is added to the end of the list, regardless of the specified sort order.

i would like to be able to sort the attributes by the specified sort order, then alphabetically, just as it is in the product info page in the catalog.

is there a setting i am missing or code i should massage? i can't seem to find it on my own.

They are not filtered where you enter them - they are when applying to you products

is there any way to modifiy it to where it can be sorted in admin as it is in the catalog? when my attributes span more than one or two pages, it is easier for me to know at a glance if i have all my attributes in place if they are sorted alphabetically.

How many Attributes do you have on these Products with lots of Attributes where it is spanning more than 1 page?

i think the most i have on any one product is 113 attributes. but a number of my products range between 50-100 attributes (custom candles with an extensive scent and color list). my attribute list shows 30 attributes to a page, so with 113 attributes, i have 4 pages to scroll through to find one attribute.

the scent list is what changes frequently since i add new scents and remove unpopular or discontinued scents almost weekly. if i could control the sort of my attribute list in the attribute controller, then i would know at a glance whether i remembered to add neroli blossom to the list by looking on the page where the N's scents are instead of having to go to the page where the most recent additions to the list are.

You can change the Maximum per page ...

Depending on your server you may be able to set it to 120 and see them all, where the default is 30:

Would that work better for you?

Otherwise, sorting by Option Value Name would involve more customization as the Option Value Name is currently a lookup ... how good are you at remaking SELECT statements and adding more JOINS ...

i completely suck at it. i am dependent upon you and the other delicious coders here for all the neat trickery you can throw at zen cart.

i guess it would be easier for the time being to just increase the number of items displayed per page. maybe not all the way to 120, but increasing it to 60 will certainly help.
