Addon installation PayPal/Order Issues

I would be surprised if the Recover Cart addon has any negative impact on PayPal functionality.

However, the various so-called SEO addons have been known to cause problems with IPN functioning. Merely turning them off doesn't always solve the problem. Sometimes it's necessary to remove the .htaccess alterations as well.

We had the "no order" issue happen again after I reverted the .htaccess change. Is there some sql I can run to possiblly see the orders that are not showing up?

Do you or anyone have any ideas what would be causing this sporatic issue?

I just checked the orders table and it is not in there and I do have the log in the paypal\logs directory.

*That* particular log file can be ignored. It's ONLY a log of info sent TO PayPal. You'd only use it if the data on the PayPal side wasn't recording the same as what you expected it to. 99.9999% of people will NEVER need that file. So, ignore all the ones that start with "Keys for submission:"

*That* file should contain about 20x more information than that. If it doesn't, then your server is triggering some sort of error before it can even complete processing.
Either that, or you're not using log FILES, and you're using emails instead. Don't use the emails, because they come one-at-a-time and get mixed up in their order. Use "log to file", and post the complete file (yes, you can hide your URL and private info, but don't doctor it up too much or it makes it useless).

Yes those were the full log files. Is there another place to look for the errors? Also, does it not save the order until PayPal returns, seems like it would be in a pending status or something...

I have other IPN Info logs that worked and do have 20x the lines in them. Looks like when it works I get the following files with these headers (in this order), Keys for submission, IPN PROCESSING INITIATED, IPN INFO - POST VARS..., and then PDT Returned Data Array.

I have no idea why *some* of your orders aren't working, and I'm afraid that whatever happened when you were changing and editing files to install something, or whatever, has created a mess that needs specific investigation by someone who has the time and skill to fix it.

While you are working on finding someone to do that, you can try out the "paypal push orders" addon to trick the system into accepting the orders that are apparently "missing". But NOTE: I always cringe when someone goes and uses this addon because unless they actually "fix" the root cause of their problems, they're only applying a bandage and run the risk of leaving data in an unsynchronized state, and can be bad when auditing your transaction records, etc. As with any "problem", one should always fix the *root* cause, not merely apply bandages. Maybe going back to your system backups and comparing all your site files to look for things that are broken might be of value.
