Adding info to new, featured and specials

Hello,

At the moment I have a sidebar with new Products and Specials and I have the Featured in the centre.

For each product only the box, the title and the price are shown. How could I add more items line an extract of its description, the add-to-cart logo or a more-info link to each product?

And second question: In the featured products in the center the products are shown in just one column. How can I get them distributed by rows?
