I have a question about changing the method that ZC changes the display of items on the home page.
I think understand the method that it uses to randomize the items, and that they change with every load. However, I have noticed that ZC always seems to pull similar items when displaying them.
My site, York Seed, (http://www.yorkseed.com), sells seeds, and when I enter the items in, I normally create a single item for every count that I am selling (Versus attributes for multiples). However, I am just copying and duplicating the original listing, and then editing the information for the new items with the increased counts, price, etc.
When displaying the items on the home page, there normally seems to be an inordinate number of similar items, all with the same image, and I would like to change this.
Is there a setting that would allow me to change the method that ZC selects the items for new item inclusion on the home page? (I used to have it set for all, thinking that this would change or allow some of the 2,000 items I had entered in to populate the display; however, this was not the case.)
I did change the New Product Listing - Limited to . . . to represent the last 7 days, also thinking along the same lines, but with no change.
I am running: Zen Cart v1.3.8a/v1.3.8; hosted on a 2003 SP2 machine that I have direct access to.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Dag Lindt
