Default SSL - use "www." or not? - https://examplesite.com or https://www.examplesite.com

Is it better to use https://examplesite.com or https://www.examplesite.com for the SSL cert?

Does anyone have expericence with using these?

As long as you're consistent there's no difference. I'd recommend that you use the same as your do for your non-secure pages.

If I choose https://www.examplesite.com then I can just add the www through .htaccess. Is that right. I don't know how yet but I remember reading that somewhere.

You could. But if you've specified www when you installed your Zen Cart, or added www to the configure.php files since, you shouldn't have to make any changes to your .htaccess file.
