Looks doable with few mods added, and as long as whole
template is not copied re copyright issues..

Yes, but as Misty said, it'll require some work on your part.

You might want to take a look at the free templates available at http://(sorry, site offline)/ to see if there's anything that you could adapt to achieve a similar look without starting from scratch.
