List items in rows of 3?

Hello everybody,

I'm attempting to list my items in rows of 3 instead of 1 item stacked on top of each other, with name and price under the image(just like the new products box). I just need to know what file creates the item list, and what would be the easiest method.

What you need is to install the Column Layout Grid mod from Free Addons. This is built to do what you want.

Hi,
I just installed that Column Layout Grid for Product Listing mod. Seems to work fine in internet explorer, but Mozilla firefox (3.0.6) seems to have problems with the colums. Sometimes they are OK, but other times they are irregular, one product picture that's out of the line, some pictures are put side by side and then a big blank before the next picture.
Probably the generated code is not OK with all browser types. Or am I doing something wrong?

These instructions seemed very easy but when I view my products page my products have dissapeared. ???

Updated code files are included - so the task is simple.
- Upload the new product_listing.php to ZEN_CART_HOME_DIR/includes/modules/YOURTEMPLATE/product_listing.php
I uploaded this file to ZitaStore/includes/modules/classic

- Upload the new tpl_modules_product_listing.php to:
ZEN_CART_HOME_DIR/includes/templates/YOURTEMPLATE/templates/tpl_modules_product_listing.php

I uploaded this file to ZitaStore/includes/templates/classic/templates

Do I then remove the original files that were within
ZitaStore/includes/modules
and
ZitaStore/includes/templates/template_default

I just can't seem to get any mod to work for me today.

You never want to touch the default/core files that came with Zen Cart. It sounds like you put the files in the right places (though you should have a custom template foldername instead of using /classic/, but that's another subject). We can't tell what's wrong without being in your server, though a corrupted file is possible. What did you use to upload the files? Have you tried re-uploading the files with fresh copies?

I use FileZilla to upload my files. I moved the files into a new folder so now I have a new template folder. The products are back on the page but they aren't in 3 columns. They are still in rows but the rows are now really spread apart.

Any thoughts on what's wrong? I even double checked to see if my Layout Settings were on columns and they are.

You have an odd mix of displays. The headings are being output as should only happen in rows mode, but not in a table, so there is a string of divs going down the page. The individual products should be floated left, but they don't have the wrappers that would allow that to happen.

I think that indicates that product_listing.php is missing or corrupt, while tpl_modules_product_listing.php is working in columns mode without the correct content input.
