Site is sooo slow-help please

Hi All,

I've been having a problem the last 4 days of my site going down and working very slowly. I contacted my provider...first they thought I needed to change servers, then they thought it was a mysql problem and changed me to a different one and it didn't work. Next they said they optimized my site and for me to clear my cache and try again and that didn't work
Starting to wondering if they know what they are talking about.

So, does anyone have any idea what may be causing this problem...I'm really at my wits end. The only thing different I did this week on my site was reset my Store manager...otherwise, all else has been the same.

You image file sizes are way too large for the web as are about 121k and only need to be approx 3k to 5k

You can try following this tutorial on optimizing images
OR get the 3rd party IH2(image handler 2) module from the download section

thanks Kobra! By the way, my site was performing so slowly before and I've always had the same size images. Is it because I continue to add images that size that slows it down?

ok started looking at my image files and made some adjustments-the image sizes on my site are smaller than what I would like and it's still performing slowly... but here is what my images folder looks like:

Width and height of image have no bearing on your problem,
it is FILE size in K that is problem...use Image Handler 2..
