Sideboxes don't appear on some pages - WHY?

I have added the scrolling bestsellers sidebox to my site and it appears fine on the home page. However, it doesn't appear on the subcategory or product listing pages.

What have I done and how can I correct it - or can I not see the wood for the trees and I just need to switch it on in admin?

The best sellers sidebox is contextual. Specifically it shows the best sellers for the catagory that you are in. If you are in a category where there haven't been any sales, or the sales don't meet the minimum threshold for inclusion as best sellers, then the box won't display. Might this be the problem?

That's also why I discovered it appeared on some subcategory pages and not others - I was getting quite confused!

The idea is that as visitors drill down to the category of products that interests them, the best sellers list also reflects those preferences. So it's a good idea, but it can be confusing for site owners. Glad to have cleared this up for you.
