Default How do I add Color and/or Size fields?

I have an urgent need to add product specific color and size dropdown combo box fields with values specific for that product. Does anyone have this and willing to share the code? Thanks.

This is part of Zen Cart already. The key word is "attributes" and you'll find information about them in the FAQ.

None of that in the FAQ area is working for me. I follow it step by step and still can't get the attributes to take. I do huge CSV uploads too so I want to stick to just one product type and add additonal attributes to certain groups instead of changing product types. I had numerous issues attempting to use the upload program I have against the music group.

If done exactly step by step, it will work; so we need to know exactly what you are doing to have a chance of diagnosing the problem. How are the attributes not "taking"? What results are you seeing at each step?

Website is http://dmsmerchandise.com. I started at Admin > Catalog > Attribute Name Manager

I can create the attribute just fine.

However, I need to apply it to category Sports & Outdoors which is a parent or main category. It does not show in the categories box I want to apply it again, but it appears that the subcategories are listed in that box.

This could prove tedious and very laborious to have to set each and every sub category.

Is there any third party applications at all that automate this process? I am started that this si not one of the fields that apepar by default. If it's not needed it could be switched off in preferences which would of been the best way to go.

The site you've given isn't a Zen cart.

I believe that the commercial version of the Easy Populate mod handles attributes.

The attributes options aren't one by default as many stores don't need them. As there's a computational over-ride to turning them on, it makes for them to be defined and enabled only by stores that do need them.

The site I gave is Zencart. It's my website. However, dmsmerchandise is an add-on domain that I have other issues with that are in the process of being fixed.

Been burned a number of times paying for software that I thought should work according to it's advertising and documentation, only to install it and find out it don't work, so reluctant to pay for any software that I can't first evaluate in full uncrippled mode.

The link you gave doesn't point to your Zen Cart - that is in /store/ under the main address.

You talk about applying attributes to categories... That's not the way they work. Attributes apply only to individual products.
You can copy attributes from one product to another, or to a whole category of products at once. Set up the attributes in one typical product, and then in the catalog > Categories/Products list view, click the blue (A) next to that product.

    Options include:

Copy Attributes to another product from:
    [Product Name] ID# 45
    Copy To

Copy Attributes to another category from:
    [Product Name] ID# 45
    Copy To

None of the products even show in the drop down box in the attributes module, that is part of the issue. Only the categories do.

Clicking on that "A" button opens a screen that works. Thanks for the hint.
