Online Credit Card Processing

Hi all

I want to offer online credit card processing to my customers rather than offline one. So I'll have a merchand account with my local bank. The question is, does ZC support online processing? Because I couldn't see any online option under payment modules. Or once I get the code from the bank, is it done according to their instructions?

It most certainly does, and there are a whole range of modules which work and you should check these out (in the payments modules section ) for a suitable one before making any arrangements with the bank.

Suppose non of these modules that you asked me to check out works for me. In that case, I will have to use the module (or whatever is called) provided by my local bank. What I would like to know is that if this happens, do I have to disable the (offline) credit card module under Modules > Payment section in ZC? Or leave it enabled?

You can offer as many payment options as you wish, but it makes sense to turn off those you don't intend to use - also, it would be confusing for the customer if there were 2 credit card payment methods (as opposed to credit card + going to paypal where they could also pay by credit card!)

Be assured that you will get no real help from the major banks in incorporating their code...it is most unlikely that it will be available as a drop in module for ZenCart.

Payment Gateways such as Protx will work with just about any bank.

Which bank are you thinking of using?

I have not decided yet as to which bank to use. I'll check out the fees and any other charges then choose the one.

Some banks have modules for numerous e-commerce set-ups, but they only make the module available to clients.

Perhaps one of the things you could do is ask various banks if they interface with zencart, then choose the one that offers the best deals.

Banks like Barclays and HSBC will try to sell you their own Payment Processing systems - don't do it.

If you are UK based then Protx Direct is by far your best bet.

Agree 100% - in fact, you're probably best off talking with Protx before talking to banks.
