    Default Hiding Discount Levels

    Hello,

    I am just setting up my shop and I want to apply different discount levels to different products. Salemaker works well for this but I dont want to show a "Sale" or the price off RRP I just want to show the price the customer will pay.

    Here is how it currently looks:

    http://dev.webcreationuk.com/sapan/p...products_id=97

    The price below the product image displays as:

    Silent Gliss Metropole 1003 23mm
    From £125.00
    Sale: £100.00

    I would like it to display as:

    Silent Gliss Metropole 1003 23mm
    From: £100.00

    Is this possible from the admin panel or can it be done by changing the files?

    Many thanks

    ps I have looked through the forum and cant see the same request, apologies if I missed it. Also I cant see the zen cart version, it returns an error when I look but it is fairly new.

    Why not just enter the price people will pay as the price?

    Hi,

    Because we have over 1000 items to enter. We want to put them in at rrp once only then vary the sell price depending on market conditions, exchange rates etc.

    To do this for all products every time there is a price change would be a huge overhead and prone to mistakes.

    As I say, Salemaker does the job but we dont want it to look like we are having permanent sale.

    Thanks!

    You'd have to write software to get the effect you're looking for.

    If EVERY item in your store is configured this way so they all have a 'sale' price, you could achieve what you want by:
    1. editing your custom english.php language file to leave the define blank for PRODUCT_PRICE_SALE
    Code:
    define('PRODUCT_PRICE_SALE','');
    2. modifying your stylesheet for span.normalprice
    Code:
    span.normalprice {
      display: none;
    }

    You'll also need to get rid of the line break in there, and unfortunately that is hard coded in the core function file functions_prices.php

    Dear Neville

    Thank you very much. This works well.

    I know you mentioned the line feed issue.

    Is it impossible or just difficult?

    Can you point me in the right direction?

    Thanks again

    it's not impossible - you just have to be aware that you're editing a core file and keep a note of it for future upgrades.

    The area you need to be looking at is the function zen_get_products_display_price (in includes/functions/functions_prices.php), specifically in the area between lines 210 and 250 - there's lots of line breaks hard coded in there for display of special and sale prices.

    BTW - your site is looking very good, but you need to do something about the category/subcategory image file sizes: they are slowing down page loads considerably.

    Neville,

    Thanks. Will try changing the line feed.

    Thanks for the speed tip, we were just wondering why the site was slow, will change images now.

    Thanks
    Karen
