help question Unable to Upload Product Images in admin

Hello, I have used this site for a while now for some great info when building my eCommerce sites.

I have a question that I cannot seem to find the answer to however.

I haven't uploaded any new products to this one store I built in well over 18 months.

I recently went to add more products, but the images will not upload.

I am not out of disk space - I have over 350MB free still.

I am running Zen Cart v1.3.5/v1.3.0
I do not want to upgrade just yet - since I have some custom work done and I am not comfortable with doing so, and not overwriting all my custom files.

It worked great for a while. I checked the ../store/images directory permissions and they are set at 777
The other product images all are in there, and work fine.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am not great with PHP, so if you could "dumb" it down for me, that'd be most appreciated as well.

    Thanks in advance!!!

Your images directory needs to be 755... OR in RARE cases 777 as well as the /bmz_cache/ if using image handler.

How are you uploading the images? Are you uploading them as part of the entry of the product? Are you getting an error message?

BTW, the screen shots are useless. The print is extremely tiny.

The screen shot I put in there comes up full size...don't use the thumbnail one.

I used a IMG BB coded one instead.

I am uploading the images (or trying) as part of adding a new product.
No error message. Just no image gets uploaded.

    Maybe....
If you have subdirectories - where you try to upload your images - they also need permissions set.

If you got that version info from your Admin, then it's worth pointing out that it's not good that your database is being reported as being at a different version (v1.3.0) than your PHP files (v1.3.5). It means someone upgraded the files but skipped upgrading the database ... which could lead to odd problems for shoppers and order handling.

However, the mismatch shouldn't have any affect on the ability to upload images.

So ... what happened between the time when "it worked great" and the time when it *stopped* working "great"?

If the permissions are correct on the /store/images/ folder then that's not the problem.
The problem "might" be with something else on the server, such as the server's /tmp/ folder (which you have *no* control over ... only your hosting company can touch it) or the server's PHP configuration (again your hosting company has to deal with that).

What's your hosting company saying about your problem? Have you talked to their tech support department?

It likely has nothing to do with needing to reprogram any PHP.
If the upload is properly triggered but cannot complete, you *should* be seeing an error message.

Something you haven't stated is whether you have any addons installed and what they are.
In fact, you skipped over answering some of the questions asked on the New Threads screen ... perhaps answering any unanswered ones now may help:

NOTE: When making a new post, be sure to include relevant information such as:

    * What version of Zen Cart are you using?
    * Has your site been upgraded? When? From what version(s)?
    * What addons have you installed? When?
    * In what ways is your site customized or different from a brand new uncustomized install?
    * If you're encountering display/layout problems, post your site URL* so it can be seen in action.
    * If you're encountering problems that could be related to your server or hosting company, include the name of your hosting company (not their URL).
    * HAVE YOU LOOKED IN THE FAQ AREA for answers to your question? (ie: a search for your error message or what you want to edit/change, etc)
    * Have you searched the FORUM for your error message or for answers to the question you're asking?
    * WHEN did the problem "start"? How does that compare with other events of your hosting company, changes you've made to your site files/addons, or your admin settings, etc?
    * If this is your first store, have you tested all aspects of transactions before going live?

*NOTE: Search engines index this Zen Cart™ support site very quickly. Posting your URL will cause your site and your post to show up in search engines. If you want to prevent that, put spaces between each letter of the domain name in your URL.
In the meantime, you can probably use FTP to upload your images manually, and then just edit the product and specify the image filename.

I have submitted a case with my host to see if they can help.

The manual upload is not really an option (FTP) since I am turning the maintenance over to the store owner...not that computer savvy.

Here's the store, if this helps at all https://www.fawnfeatherspa.com/store
