Well I downloaded Notepad Plus and will be reading the tutorials that you've recommended.
If I'm understanding this correctly...I can open any php file from my PC, do the editing and then transfer the file to my site to update it using a program like Filezilla.
Hope I'm thinking in the right direction with this.
Only wish there was a program that would transfer your knowledge into my brain, lol.
