Default Admin>My Store>HTML editor not working

Downloaded FCKeditor today, installed it, and spent the entire day trying to get it to work. Turns out, the Admin>My Store>HTML editor wil not change the current setting. It was stuck on HTML editor regardless of what I set it to. If you go to EZPages and select the FCKeditor, it comes up fine, and stays set for other editing activites such as product info. But go back to Admin>My Store>HTML editor, and once set, it stays FCKeditor regardless of what you try to set it to there. Question is, has anyone else seen this, or do I have something else screwed up? It's not critical as I have a work around, but took all day to find it.

Take it easy on me, I'm a newbie

What happens if you set the editor selected in admin > my store > html editor > you should see your desired editor in the drop box

Select it > log out of admin > log back in > see what the default is
