Google Map API woes in IE

Hello,

I have my google maps API working great in Firefox, but now that I'm trying to do some corrections of bugs in Internet Explorer. The map loads, it is just way off centered, with the pinpoint (location of my store) at the top left hand corner.
From what i've read, the problem might be that I can not place the script low enough on the page. It's suppose to be right above the body tag.
Do you know how i can do this? or are there any other solutions?
