Is it possible to skip a 1-category sub-category and jump to the next level of sub-categories?

Example: Top level has 3 categories (A,B,C). Category A has 1 sub-category (D). Category D has 2 sub-categories (E,F).

Is there a way to jump straight to sub-categories E & F by clicking on A?

I know some people will tell me to delete D, but within a year, there will be other categories at that level.
