Default Login problems after installing Magic URL

Newbie zen cart user here. I hope you can help

    1.3.8a
    http://www.thedumbdog.com/catalog
    XP , FF & IE7, host=freeyellow.com Apache server

    installed modules:
    COWOA
    Magic URL

I recently bought and installed Magic URL. Something got corrupted as the login screen is blank.

Uninstalled COWOA .. all files except the SQL patch.

    Reloaded OEM files includes/english/
    Reloaded OEM files /default_template/

The login screen came back, but subsequent pages are blank. Hitting the back button shows you did login, but checkout is dead.

Ideas? Hints? Suggestions? I would hate to have to start all over

    Thanks in advance

I did. He is overseas and the last reply I got Friday was that there could be MANY corrupted files. He needed a non-corrupt .htaccess file and I remade a new one.

My cart has been down all weekend awaiting a reply, so 0 sales for me.

That's when you would uninstall the addon, or restore your site from a working backup you made before installing the addons.

That's great for you DSL and Broadband users. My FTP runs at dialup speeds, so I rename OEM files before upgrades. At least then uninstalls are not so time consuming.

On the latest restore posted in the beginning, it looks like all files loaded ok. I need to view the properties for each file to match the exact byte count. FireFTP does not display byte counts in the menu tree.

Is there a flow chart available in the help files?

i.e. after you login and hit the radio button 'login' Where does Zen Cart go next? Maybe I can debug it from there.

What is the debug log utility telling you about the problem?

the addon is very easy to disable
    1. remove the htaccess
    2. revert the changes you made in the file, i believe it's in application_top.php?
I no longer provide installation support on forum for all my modules. However, if there are real bugs with the modules please feel free to contact me

I did not install a debug utility. If it is already there, I do not know where the log file is (It's not in the cache dir)

Pardon my stupidity. I am a newbie with Zen Cart. I know HTML fairly well, but lack knowledge of css and php

The Migic URL guy told me includes/application_top.php file was corrupted and is now fixed, but I still get a blank screen after loggin in and logging out.
