That's great for you DSL and Broadband users. My FTP runs at dialup speeds, so I rename OEM files before upgrades. At least then uninstalls are not so time consuming.
On the latest restore posted in the beginning, it looks like all files loaded ok. I need to view the properties for each file to match the exact byte count. FireFTP does not display byte counts in the menu tree.

the addon is very easy to disable
1. remove the htaccess
2. revert the changes you made in the file, i believe it's in application_top.php?
I no longer provide installation support on forum for all my modules. However, if there are real bugs with the modules please feel free to contact me
