Default What info does the SQL database hold?

I am changing hosting companies and I only backed up the SQL database. Does this database hold all the images for the products and customer information?

Also, once I use fantastico to set up ZenCart on the new host, do I replace the new database with the one I am transferring from my old host.

    Thanks!

the database holds the all the variable information
for customers categories products orders etc....

it holds the path to the images but the /images/ folder holds the actual images

You should not need to do ths at all

Copy your DB and copy all your files as you already have a working install - - moving it is just the above basic process

    I disagree with Kobra.
While copying files is part of the process, doing a clean install on the new server first will generate accurate new configure.php files for the new server, making it less likely to have to edit the configure.php files and guess at the new settings.

That said, I agree that using fantastico is always a bad idea. It's always more reliable to do a clean install.

The correct instructions for moving Zen Cart from one server to another are outlined here: https://www.zen-cart.com/tutorials/i...hp?article=100

Merlin is right ... the database stores all your customer/product/order data and all your site configuration settings. It does NOT store your images or your custom coding or your template.

Ultimately you need to move BOTH your MySQL database AND your PHP (and image and html and other) files.

Just follow the FAQ article and things should go well.
