Category tabs menu

Hi,

I've quite a few category's in our website, which look fine down the side. But when they're all being displayed up the top as drop down category tabs, it looks silly..

Is there a way to limit the amount that will be shown as drop down menus?

I have taken the step below to try turn them off completely but it hasn't worked

(These are called the Category Tabs and can be switched off by setting Admin > Configuration > Layout Settings > "Categories-Tabs Menu ON/OFF" to zero.)

I did not see any cat tabs at the top???

Try clearing your browser cache and reloading the site in your browser
