Hi, sorry I'm new to this.
I'm setting up Zen Cart on the server with shared SSL i've just created with Fasthost. How do I know my shared SSL is working before I finish installing?
Thanks

Hi and Welcome to the Forum.
An SSL Cert and Zen Cart work independently of each other but Zen Cart does provide the ability to work with your SSL Cert.
To find out if SSL is installed correctly you need only go to https://yourdomain.com. Does not have to be a Zen Cart page as it can be any page. To easily test you can create an 'index.html' page and upload it.
If you do have any problems with your SSL Cert then your Hoster would be the best place to seek help from.

Thank you both .... I'm on the shared SSL, how can I test it?
There is another problem.
After installing Zen Card zen-cart-v1.3.8a-full-fileset to Fasthost server all layout looks very wrong.
Not sure what I did wrong but as I said before It's all very new to me and any help is much apreciated.
Thank you
Assuming it's been set up correctly in the 'configure' files, you should just be able to go to the login page of Zen Cart and the url should change from http to https.

Your other problem is in another thread so best not to ask or answer it here.

If not a Dedicated SSL then there should be an automatic redirect in place, setup by the Hoster.Originally Posted by Website Rob View Post

But then again, it's not called the wild wild web for nothing.![]()
Fasthosts won't run Zen Cart in shared SSL mode. It's a well-known problem discussed in many places on the forum.
