Firstly I apologise for asking a question that I have seen answered before and has several mentions in tutorials/FAQ. However none of the answers seem to be working for me.
I am a new Zencart user and have recently got to the stage where I can now start testing to see if it actually works. The problem is that during testing, whenever I try to checkout a product I am taken to a screen that demands I sign up for Paypal. On this screen there is no option to pay by credit card without having a Paypal account.
I have seen answers to this question saying that you have to have "PayPal Account Optional" turned on within "Website Payment Preferences", which I have, and also that the account has to be verified, which it is. Does anyone have any idea what I am doing wrong? My "store" is based in Thailand - could that be the problem?
I am using Zencart v1.3.8a.

Clear your browser cookies and you'll see what your customers will see if they've never logged into PayPal from their browser before.

Hi Dr Byte and really appreciate your help. Your suggestion does indeed now take me to a different, now "split screen". However the split is: give your "Create a Paypal Account" details or give your "Already Have a Paypal Account" details. There appears to be no option to pay by credit card without first having or creating a Paypal account? See attachment for an image of the screen I get to.
Any further suggestions would be most welcome.

Express Checkout may require that the customer have a PayPal account if they live in certain parts of the world. More and more regions are more flexible as PayPal continues to work with localized banking organizations.
Website Payments Standard does not require that the customer have a PayPal account ... in several geographic regions. However, there are *some* regions where an account *is* required. You'll have to contact PayPal to see if there's a way to change that for *your* customers. There's nothing we can do on this end.Last edited by DrByte; 4 Sep 2009 at 10:38 PM. Is it safe to say then as the vast majority of our customers would not be ordering from Thailand, but from USA, Europe and Australia that they would in fact see the correct page and not be asked to make a Paypal account?
