    Default Header problems

    I followed https://www.zen-cart.com/tutorials/i...hp?article=125. I have a tiny purple strip showing up but not the entire logo. What am I doing wrong? Then last night I went into Firefox - Web Developer - Misc - edit html and just looked at it. I didn't change a thing and now I have a 2 different colored banner with my little purple strip on the left side which is thr right color the banner should be. I have tried this over and over and can't get the logo to show up. Can someone look at my site? bearlymakinit.com And see if you can figure it out?

    It looks like your logo is in the templates_default folder and NOT your custom folder.

    Are you modifying the stylesheet in the template_default folder? This is not correct.

    You should have a custom folder for your template.

    Your site is pulling everything from template_default. Do you have a custom template, and is it selected in Admin?

    Edit: Must learn to type faster ...

    Be,

    #logoWrapper {
    background-color:#E5D9E5;
    background-image:url(../header_bg.jpg);
    height:150px;
    width:600px;}

    1. change the red font above to this:
    2. background-image:url(../images/header_bg.jpg);
    3. The header you created has to match the .jpg above, ftp the header_bg.jpg image you created to, if different from header_bg.jpg switch the name above and follow below
    4. includes/ templates/ your_template/ images

    I have been pulling up what ever the instructions say to pull up and saving them to my Custom folder or wherever they say to save it. I am using the Lavender template and have even tried to save the images into it. The only way I can get the header to show up as the purple strip is to save it under defalut template. I just deleted the images from the folder. now I have nothing ahowing. I even did what haredo said and still no image. I went into admin and my Lavender sheets are all on. One question. Am I supposed to shut off the template_default? I have not read anything about doing that anywhere. This is driving me crazy. I have deleted, tryed again, moved, edited, done everything I can think of short of throwing everything into the swimming pool and calling it quits. The header and the yahoo join now button are the only things I need to get working and I have been over a week on these 2 things.

    Hi im new to zencart but hopefully understand what you are doing wrong. What you will need to do is create a custom template and work of that rather then the default one. the reason to this as i understand it is if you require a upgrade to zencart then all of your customisation will be lost.
    What you need to do is this:
    go to SHOP/includes/templates(SHOP being the name of the directory you uploaded zencart to)
    Create a new folder and call it what you like(mytemplate)
    Now go to default template and copy the css into the new folder you created
    ........................Ive just found the link i was looking for................

    Follow these steps and work under your CUSTOM template
    cheers

    Ok I deleted the lavender template and just did a MY_Template folder and moved everything from custom to my=template folder . I do have a single color header now, but my logo is still only a thin purple line. When you go to filezilla- web developer - information - view page information and click on media. It shows the picture is where it is supposed to be but it also show 0 bytes. I just right clicked / edit on logo.gif in my-template folder and it shows a blank. I did the same on logo.gif in my documents and it is okay, I deleted it from my-templates and reloaded it and it doesn't show up. How do I get the exact file to transfer?

    HI
    I get the same problem when the image size is not the same as the original one. I did my image through coral draw and messed around with the size a few times and when i got the correct size it started to show.

    I think that the image that you are trying to place is too big. One thing that i must mention is that i copied the image of the default logo and then pasted it in coral draw. I customised it and left the size of it as it was but it stil didnt work. then i realized that the zoom setting that i had on coral was affecting it. I dont know any other way to sort the image size out so it took a little playing around but i got there in the end.

    Give it a go and see if it works for you
