Getting blank pages, why?

Hi,

I seem to be getting blank pages on my site.

1st time i noticed was when I tried to add a product to cart (not logged in)

2nd time was when at shopping cart page and I clicked 'Checkout', just got a blank page.

3rd is when I log on as a buyer, enter login user and pass and then get blank page (using back button i see I am logged in)

4th is when i move from step 1 (delivery info) of checkout to step 2 (payment method).

I installed using Fantastico Delux as I have always done on many other zen sites and never once had a problem, and all on the same server.

If anyone has any idea of what might be causing this or may know how to resolve it, I am all ears.

I have got the exact same thing on the site I'm working on at the mo. Mine was installed but copying the files via FTP. Version 1.3.8

So its not just a local fault.

I wonder is it an bug within the script. Im using zencart 1.3.8a

Is there anyone else getting the same problem?... It might need to be brought to the attention the guys in the big chairs.

Ok, I got mine working again.. Try this:

open incudes/languages/english.php

Go to the very botton of the file where you see ?>

If there are any blank line after ?> then delete them so the last line is the one with ?> in it.

Seems to have something to do with whitespace after the final ?>

Also do for the top of the page before <?php tag

I tried the debug thing, helped a lot. Highlited that i had a problem with my extra info pages. Pull out a few pages and it worked so put the info pages back in from scratch and its now working.

Nice tool that debugging thing!

I can't get the debug tool to work. I installed it in the right folder, made sure the cache was writeable but the only thing that happens is instead of seeing a blank page for a category I get server 500 error and nothing ever shows up in cache folder. Any idea????

Ok, after a bit more searching for a solution I found one.

The answer is simple.....

Using FTP.

Go to includes/languages/english.php

Copy to your Hard Disk (Dont forget to Backup)

Open the file in Dreamweaver, notepad or what ever editor you are using for .php files.

Go to the very bottom of the file and delete the blank lines below '?>'

Save the file and re-upload to includes/languages/

This should fix any blank pages.

If you are still getting blank pages double check english.php file

Make sure there are no blank spaces or lines after '?>'
