login not working in firefox

I have version 1.3 of zen cart and it is all working perfectly except for an odd bug in firefox

if you have something in your cart and go to checkout you can log in fine. Once you have logged in you can the log out and log back in again with no problems regardless of your cart being empty or full.

However when you first get to the site if you log in you are just sent to the home page but not logged in.

Does anyone know what could be causing this?

That's not normal behaviour and is specific to your site. Are you willing to provide a URL so that we can see it?

What version of Zen Cart are you using? Is that the originally installed version, or has it been upgraded?

its version 1.3.7 which is the original install but it has had modifications made to the templates

Do you have a test account that we could use to experience the logging in problem first hand?

Is there any chance that an 1.3.8 code could have found it's way into any of the code associated with logging in or creating an account?

Does the problem only occur in Firefox?

The login seems to work fine in IE and safari

and none of the login scripts have been altered as far as i am aware

The login scripts have been altered. Some of the standard template has been commented out, and new markup and inline styling has been added. Makes me wonder whether there are other changes to the processing that we can't see.

But first, two further diagnostic questions:

Does it work if you temporarily switch to the classic template?

Does it work if you turn off your URL re-writing package?
