Direct entry monetary value

There are a couple other threads on the topic of a direct entry of a price attribute. Rather than hijack any of those threads, I'm posting this here.

The purpose for me is to support additional donations or contributions along with purchases.

I constructed a prototype against my cart of a new base attribute type for "MONETARY". It's not a clean plugin or module and it's not even built against a clean 1.3.8a source collected.. having said that, if someone had left me these breadcrumbs I would have appreciated it, so..

I'm leaving these breadcrumbs for the next traveller into this space.

*PROTOTYPE EXPERIMENTAL CODE* ..so far it's working for me but has not received full testing yet.


It is not fully internationalized and doesn't use the built-in zen cart pricing and taxing code, but it does touch every single place I could find where a base attribute type is handled.

I will likely go forward with these changes even though they affect a significant number of core files. I'm posting things in this condition because I never know when I'll get another window of dedicated time to work on things like this.
