Disabling specific attributes.

I am trying to figure out how to disable just one attribute (size) at a time without disabling the whole product line.

Example - If I run out of medium shirts of one style, I don't want to disable the entire style, just the medium option. Right now I can only figure out how to disable the entire thing.

Do you have the 3rd party module "stock by attributes" installed?

What you seek is actually dependant attributes and there is no current support for this. The above mod I believe will display a message in the checkout/cart view but not remove it in the product view
