Easy Populate Help Needed! ASAP

Hello. I have a store and I would like to use Easy Populate to upload products. I am completely stuck. No matter what I do I can not upload products through Easy Populate.

I have Easy Populate CSV from this web site on Zencart 1.3.8 and PHP5.

When I upload a CSV by myself I get:

SKIPPED! - Model: AOC01,"10 Age of Conan EU Gold",,,,,,7.13,0,,"2009-03-04 07:49:44",10,,"Age of Conan EU",Aquilonia,,,,,,--none--,1,0,0,0,0,0,,,EOREOR - No category provided for this new product

And when I let it CREATE its own CSV and then try to immediately import the self-created CSV I get:

No model field in record. This line was not imported | 500 Gold | 500 World | | | | | 5 | 0 | | 2009-02-28 | 100 | | World of W | Gold | | | | | | --none-- | 1 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | | | |

Something is very wrong here! Someone help me!

Search for posts by "phazei" - the writer of the CSV version. I believe there is a "help" thread for EP, CSV version.

(I don't think you need EOREOR at the end of each line with the csv version. Check the help thread.)

The only thing I've found is a thread from 2005 with over 300 pages.

Can you provide support for any Easy Populate versions?

First... see if your EP install is working...

1. ADD a product to a category, using the conventional Zencart "Add Product" input screen: (admin>>>catalogue>>>categories/products - select a category, add a new product).

2. Then use EP to EXPORT your full product data. (If it has errors now, then the EP install was faulty)

(If no errors, and you get an exported file)...
3. Look at the EP exported file in a spreadsheet. See the headers and how the data is arranged. Mimic that format for all your products and try a csv upload again.

Thanks for all the advice. In the end, I've found someone in India who programmed a custom importer for me. Way easier!

Pity you found that was the favoured option.

I completed a site yesterday at around noon, and the final step was to populate the store with product data.

Installed Easy Populate 1.2.5.4, and 15 minutes later the store was fully populated with the product data...

By mid afternoon we were fully operational.
