Help - using URL images

I am pretty new so please bear with me.

A bunch of my suppliers have given me their product files with url images, how do i ad this on my site?

When i put the image in the product_url column in easy populate, it still does not pull the image.

So for example, this would be the image file that the supplier has given to me:

http://www.widgets.com/widget1.jpg

i would love a quick solution for this, my goal is to have my site up by this weekend and i have over 10 thousand products that has this image url's

as far as i know ,zencart will display product images that are stored on your server within Images folder and its sub folders .

Yes i realize it will store the jpg file, but what do i do in situations in which the supplier is giving me a url for these images? I wrote to them and they responded that they do not give out image files and they assume that I am using a web developer! I have searched the internet and i know for a fact that their is a way because of my work experience. But because I am not a tech person and I dont have the money to hire one, doesnt mean I shouldnt have access to this big secret!

Can someone please help me with this???

Try searching for a Bulk Image Downloader....

There's free ones and some you have to buy,,, check out Firefox, free addon called 'Bulk Image Downloader 1.38' sounds like just the thing your looking for... look in cnet downloads, lots listed there.

Not hard to find.... I think I'll try the Firefox one myself!

I found a solution!!!! And yes, it was the bulk image downloader and I found an absolutely awesome one...now i can finally get some sleep, lol!!!

Good to hear you got it sorted out... Some other tools you may find handy for working with that many images...

RenameMaster a mass renaming tool, works grate for adding _LRG into image file names.

Easy Thumbnails another nice tool for creating mass thumbnails of your images.
