    Default IE white space problem

    Hi boys and girls

I've been making a template for my new site - www.babyclothingcentral.co.uk - and I'm happy with what it looks like so far in FF. But low and behold, doesn't it have a big white space between the banner and the navbar.

It's having me tear my hair out, anything i do buggers it up in either one of the other browser.

Can any CSS genius out there tell me how to fix this?

I'm using the latest version of zen and the navbar in question is the one that is default above the banner (navMainWrapper), but I've moved it to below the banner.

    Please help me!

First, increase the height of #logoWrapper in the stylesheet to at least the height of your header image (120px) and see if that helps.

You also have HOME_PAGE_TITLE appearing in your browser title box.

    Hi there, thanks for replying.

I've done what you suggested but that just puts white space btw the logo and navbar in FF now as well.

I've also tried making headerwrapper exactly 150px (the combined size of logowrapper and navmainwrapper) but that had absolutely no effect so I've changed it back.

Any further ideas would be really gratefully appreciated.

    thanks
    Dave

Reducing #logoWrapper to a height of 100px solves the problem, even though the image is really 120px high. No idea why, but it works.

Hi Rob, that works good for FF but the problem remains for Internet Explorer (v6 anyway) but it does suggest that the problem is something to do with logowrapper rather than navmainwrapper so I'll try buggering about with that a bit more.

In the mean time, any other suggestions?

    cheers, I appreciate the effort

I wonder does anyone know of anything similar to the developers addon on FF for IE? That's be bloody handy!

The good news is that it looks fine in FF3 and IE7. I'm not sure how many people are using IE6, but I doubt if the additioanal 20px or so in the header would prevent anybody from buying.

The IE Developer Toolbar isn't nearly as helpful as the FF plugin, but it can be useful.

    Hi there,

@tony - I haven't actually gotten the problem fixed, there is still a 20px gap if you use IE6. I'm still trying to figure it out. But as someone pointed out above it works ok in IE7 & FF. I know a lot of people who still use IE6 and I'd love it to appear exactly as I want it for them but I'm out of ideas. I guess in the meantime it'll have to do.

Anyway thanks for the feedback so far guys. Have to say I love this forum and love zen, its great that people actually care enough to help others, as I'm sure everyone knows it's a pain especially when you don't know what you're doing and have no further avenues to check out.
