Wamp wamp wamp - can't get wamp to run

Hi All,

I've tried to install WAMP for the zillionth time so I can create a zencart test site and can't seem to get it to work. maybe someone can help me out before i start hitting the bottle of tequila

Dowloaded instructions from the Addons (although the instructions are different from the steps that I was prompted to take)
1. downoaded Wamp
2. Hit Run
3. agree to 'terms & conditions'
4. save to c/drive
5. create desktop icon
6. click 'install'
7. click 'no' to installing wamp server 2 homepage (this would overwrite index.php- although I did click 'yes' one time though it made no difference)
8. clicked 'install' & Lauch (nothing happens)

tried opening the program thru start>all programs>wampserver>start wampserver (doesn't work either)

Click on icon on my startup tool bar and clicked on 'start all services' (no go)

I've also hit 'Put Online' and get error message 'could not execute ...internal error...'

not sure if it's something i did or there is a conflict with this program.

Turn off your firewall, and then see if Wamp will run

got so excited...but didn't work

do you think it would make a difference if I uninstall the program and then reinstall it with the firewall off.

Are you installing in Windows xp or vista

thanks haredo! I am installing in Windows xp....as for the instructions I did download them although the steps where different from the ones prompted in the Wamp download.... i really do appreciate you trying to help me out with this.
