stock zencart v1.x has no DB backup feature . this instruction is to use PHPmyadmin , located under your hosting account and can be found by visiting your account Cpanel . once you lunch Phpmyadmin , you can follow that instruction to backup your database .

    hope this helps.

i can only assume you have backed up your Database following that tutorial . make sure that you undrestand PHPMYADMIN and how to backup , because it is recommended to back up your DB on daily basis.

if you want to back up you entire store files, you can use your host file manager should be located in your Cpanel , or you can use FTP program to log into your ftp account and copy all your files to your local harddrive .

there are many FTP programs, one recommended on this board is Filezilla ftp client which is free .
if you have firefox browser installed , you can use FireFTP extension , which is free and adds FTP function to firefox browser.

i got the shop directory backed up but which file do i save from the db_backup folder? theres an .sql ,a .sql.log file, and another file just named .htaccess

on another problem i was having..i did an optimization through the admin and afterwards the site started running slow. i had a member of another forum tell me that his attempt to start an account on my site timed out. i ran another optimization afterwards and it seemed to speed back up a little but its always been a little slow considering i dont have but 13 products listed... ive turned on display parse time and store database queries but where do i find the log at? the default directory is

    /mnt/p3hnas102_data01/p3nlh036/content/m/o/d/modwerx/tmp_shop/zen-cart-v1.3.8a-full-fileset-12112007/cache/page_parse_time.log

but i dont see any folder in the file manager. when i go to the ftp there is a folder thats named stats but i tried to download it and it gave me the "one or more files could not be downloaded" error.
