    Default GZIP working in XAMPP? Where do I configure this?

    GZIP working in XAMPP? Where do I configure this? I've tried enabling various things everywhere, nothing works..

    I always get the following error..
    PHP Output Buffering (gzip) = OFF

    Has anyone gotten this to work with XAMPP

    I've hacked my php.ini and httpd.conf to shreds, trying to accomplish this..

    If you see the message about output buffering off during installation, you can ignore it for the time being and proceed with the installation as that information is more for reference. Thus, you may not need to make any changes to your XAMPP setting.

    However, if you want to enable it for your own development work, then you should know what effects that setting has on your own code.

    Now to your question. Assuming you are on a Windows machine; to turn output buffering on, edit the file:

    <your-xampp-home>/apache/bin/php.ini

    Locate the following line and change it to 'On':

    output_buffering = Off

    Re-start your Apache web server to make sure the changes are reflected.

    PS: For future XAMPP-related problems, you might want to turn to their forums instead

    Your phpinfo.php indicates you are using a WAMP server and not a XAMPP server on a Windows machine. It also indicates your output buffering is already set to On.

    Your installation problems relate more to your cURL settings which you will have to speak to your web host about in order to get it working.

    yeah sorry for the lack of updates...

    I couldn't figure it out, and xampp sucks compared to wamp, so I uninstalled xampp and installed wamp.. Problem solved..

    Gzip worked right off the bat with wamp..
