Don't want to show Units of Stock

How do I stop the product page from displaying the Units of Stock? I do want to check stock but I do not want the customer to see the inventory level.

admin> catalog > product types > general > at far right "edit layout" > Show Quantity in Stock > set to "0" false

I WANT to show quantity in stock and I have it turned on. But it's not showing up on the page. Do you know what the problem might be?

Are you sure that you set

Not getting what you mean here at all

I just mean I made sure the products were under the "product -general" product type. I've turned on Units in Stock every where I could. And I see the code for it in the tpl_product_info_display.php
