Payflow Gateway Update

Question about PayPal... Is zen cart 1.3.8a compatible with the [FONT=Arial]upcoming Payflow Gateway Update? PayPal is upgrading its payment gateway service and all older Payflow integrations must be updated.

Thanks!

Re: Payflow Gateway Update

I'm not sure if you're writing in the context of Payflow Pro or in terms of PayPal in general. ie: which one are YOU using?

Zen Cart v1.3.9 is fully compatible with the new PayPal/Payflow/Payflow Pro requirements.

Zen Cart v1.3.8 can be patched for compatibility (details will be posted next week), or you can upgrade to v1.3.9 when it is released.

Users of Zen Cart v1.3.7 and older will not be able to use the free addon for Payflow Pro because the addon is not compliant with the new Payflow Pro requirements.

Re: Payflow Gateway Update

I just spoke with PayPal about the Payflow Pro update to what they call SDK 4.33. I mentioned that if it involves the gateway URL change (the one DrByte has posted) I already know about, but they said it involves more than the URL change. I am using 1.3.8, will there be a patch for 1.3.8?

If you are using other methods to connect to Payflow Pro, you will have to upgrade those yourself. As far as Zen Cart is concerned, the posted changes are all that's required.

No there will not be a patch just to change the URLs. Surely you can open a text editor and edit those yourself ?

Is this statement correct, as in the other thread that you link to it just says to change the URL for 1.3.7, i'm assuming that all i have to do is change the URL and it will continue to work?

The adjustments for v1.3.7 apply to the built-in PayPal support, which can interface with Payflow services only for handling the UK Express Checkout support.

If you're using Payflow as a non-UK merchant and don't have Payflow connected directly to your PayPal account, then simply editing the URL will not suffice ... you'll need to upgrade to v1.3.8a (minimum) and add the free addon for Payflow discussed at the link below:

Payflow Pro module for merchants signed up to use Payflow Pro as their main merchant account/gateway:

Thank you DrByte. No I am not using anything other than zen-cart and my payflow pro is connected to my paypal account (that is any payment that comes through shows up in my paypal account). I just edited the files and I going to do some testing. Since I upgraded to 1.3.8, which I absolutely didn't have any problems with, I customized quiet a bit, nothing in the payment area. As far as the payment modules go what do I need to do to just get that part upgraded to 1.3.8a?

What is the name of your payflow module in your Zen Cart admin?

PayFlow Pro - PayPal/Verisign.

May be your question and my answer to it, above, will explain why PayPal still shows that I am using SDK Linux 3.05 even after I updated the URLs in paypalwpp.php and paypaldp.php. Thank you for following up.

Re: Payflow Gateway Update

That shows that you're using the addon from the downloads area (which uses the obsolete SDK), and not the Payflow-specific addon for v1.3.8 which I made reference to (posted link) earlier in post #9 in this thread.

Re: Payflow Gateway Update

v1.3.8a is part of the v1.3.8 set. So, yes, you should make the change if you're in the UK.

I installed the the new addon per your instruction and everything seems to work well, except that I am probably missing some language files (I have the payflow.php language file frpm the addon zip file), I get error dialog boxes such as:

"Errors have occurred during the processing of your form.
Please make the following corrections:
MODULE_PAYMENT_PAYFLOW_TEXT_JS_CC_CVV"

Again I am using 1.3.8. Is there any any place where I can get these? or should I scan the actual payflow.php script file and add new defines to the payflow.php language file? Thanks again.

Ok, only 'MODULE_PAYMENT_PAYFLOW_TEXT_JS_CC_CVV' is missing from the language file. Here is what I entered:
define('MODULE_PAYMENT_PAYFLOW_TEXT_JS_CC_CVV', '* Enter the CVV number, the last 3 digits on the back of the card\n (for American Express, 4 digits in small type on the front).');
I have also changed:
define('MODULE_PAYMENT_PAYFLOW_TEXT_JS_CC_OWNER', '* The cardholder\'s first name and last name must both\n be entered and the complete name must be at least ' . CC_OWNER_MIN_LENGTH . ' characters.\n');

Re: Payflow Gateway Update

Should these updates be made if you're using Paypal Express and zen version 1.3.7.1 ?

Many thanks

Re: Payflow Gateway Update

If you're not using "Payflow" services, then no.
But, since most people don't seem to really know *what* they're using, I'll just answer the simple way: YES.
Since it's a relatively simple change to make, I recommend to make the change to the existing files, regardless.
