Problems with Godaddy Installation?

Godaddy offers assistance with setting up zencart, however I have tried three times and can not get it to go directly to the domain name.

I have looked up this problem, and this solution is to use an FTP program...etc (newbie here).

Is there a problem with godaddy's installation?

Should I install manually?

Is any one else having a similar problem?

Most hosts, including those using Fantastico, install Zencart in www. yourwebsitename.com/zencart

Yes, you should install Zencart manually in the place you want it to end up, including your site's root.

Download and install Filezilla for an FTP client. Search the forum for 'filezilla' for help using it.

OK.

I was able to get the files uploaded to the server.

I changed the config.php files.

I am now a bit confused about permissions.

Is the read/write/executable for Web User as well as Owner?

I'm completely confused about running the installer.

this isnt true for fantastico installs

you get a choice what subfolder you want it installed in

it will install it to http://yourdomain.com/
or
http://yourdomain.com/ ( subfolder set by customer )

I am hearing lot of problems with godaddy for zencart users. May be you should consider using one of the Zencart certified hosts.

We got it worked out.

When doing the install, one shouldn't fill in the box after www.mydomain.com/.

It defaults to zencart...so this should be deleted.
