Header Search Bar Question

I am customizing my template and I copied the search bar from the header template and pasted it in my product list template.

The idea was to have another search right above the list of products as well.


I inserted this piece of code in, tpl_index_product_list.php

<?php require(DIR_WS_MODULES . 'sideboxes/search_header.php'); ?>

But then quickly realized that this isn't the right way to add the search box feature in the main template area's.

Can you please help me figure out the right piece of code for search to be placed in the main template section.

So it looks like no one really wants to touch on this problem. Am I stupid and just don't get it? Kind of, HELppp!!!

Where do you mean by the "main template section"? Do you mean on your product pages?

I have my own site search button in my header bar which effectively places the search function on every page, via the header.

Most people looking for the search function on any website will scroll to the header as this is the natural location and it's somewhat standard to find it there.

I also have it in the header but what about if you want to display a quick search bar in the product list section. This means there would be a standard one which is by default always in the header. I understand that.

But with in the the product list right above the page numbers 1 - 2 - 3 >>

We wanted to ad a div and have another quick search feature. Our search box would only show up double on the product list page.

Just a quick way to find a product with in the list display. For those that are two lazy to move the mouse. HA!

I tried to install the header php code for the search but that is only for the header. I'd like to have a piece of code that could be place anywhere. I see there is a sidebox verson of the search bar which is cool thing is I only want it to show up above the product list page. Next to the list that is displayed so sidebox isn't as attractive if we have it at the top.

Anyone have a code that works for 3.8?
