As a domain name is of utmost importance, one should ALWAYS maintain control of it, and for the most part, never transfer to or allow another to manage it.

With multiple domain names, as a rule, we advocate using a single registrar for all that one owns. Just good business practice as one then only has one place & login to remember and manage any domain issues at.
