Store performs fast in all browser except ie

Hi,

I have a website which runs slow in IE but fast in all other browsers like firefox, safari etc...

Does anybody encountered the same issue before? Mind if you can share some tips on how can I optimize the site?

+new install zencart version 1.3.8a
+template is customized using theme114 from templatemonster

Your images are all pretty huge which can slow things down ...

You do not have Gzip enabled and that can help speed things up ...

I did not see any additional slow down in IE 6.x ...

I would say that it is users that drive this as IE6 is reported to still have approx 30% of the market

A lot of the IE6 users are inside corporate environments where IE6 is necessary for proprietary program access.

Hi,

Thanks for all the reply. I've found the cause of the slowdown it's the css tag behavior: url(csshover.htc) which I used to enable the dropdown menu for IE6.

Now, I've temporarily removed it and it's running fast however I have no dropdown menu for IE6.

Any suggestion guys?

To assist in determining if this is a server issue or a browser issue go to the admin > config > logging > display parse times > set to true

Evaluate the server parse times between browsers and if they are similar it is wholly a browser issue
